The useful question is not whether a tool looks specialized, but whether it solves a repeatable problem without creating extra cleaning, storage or consumable costs.
Start with the real workflow

Cleaning and consumables
Cleaning burden often determines whether equipment remains useful. Prefer accessible surfaces, removable food-contact components and replacement parts that can be purchased without replacing the whole device. Review manuals before buying whenever possible.
Include bags, liners, parchment, gloves, blades, filters, seals and cleaning supplies in the ownership cost. A low purchase price can become expensive when proprietary consumables are required.
A sensible buying sequence
