Use the date as a logistics trigger
The output is a scheduling window, not a biological readiness test. Its value is operational: it gives you a date range for cleaning and staging drying equipment, reserving labor, checking containers, and making sure consumables are on hand.
A simple pre-harvest staging rhythm
| When | Planning task |
|---|---|
| 2–3 weeks before window | Inventory racks, hangers, bins, shears, gloves, labels, meters and storage containers. |
| 1–2 weeks before window | Confirm drying-space availability and clean equipment according to manufacturer guidance. |
| Several days before window | Stage clean tools and container labels; confirm the workflow and responsibilities. |
| During the window | Use your normal crop-specific readiness criteria rather than the calendar alone. |
Frequently asked questions
Does this tell me exactly when a crop is ready?
No. It provides a calendar window from a user-entered start date and expected duration. Actual readiness should be assessed using the grower’s normal crop-specific criteria and applicable rules.
Can I save more than one date?
Yes. Each time you click Calculate & save, the latest result is added to a short local history in this browser.
Why is there a range rather than one day?
Biological schedules vary. A planning window is more realistic and more useful for labor and equipment reservations.
