What this equipment guide collects, why it collects it, and who else is involved. The short version: the only form is the contact form, and there are no accounts or payments.

Who we are
HarvestSupplies.co is an equipment guide, operated by Scout Theory LLC. It compares post-harvest equipment and offers sizing calculators and a checklist builder. It sells nothing: there are no accounts, no payments and no newsletter on the site.
This page explains what information the site handles, why, and who else touches it. For any privacy question or request, use the contact form and choose “A privacy request”. We do not publish a postal address.
What we collect and why
When you use the contact form
If you write to us, the form sends the following to a Google Sheet that the site’s owner operates:
- the details you type: your name, email address, topic, message, and the optional answers on the form (harvest stage, who you are writing as, and a page address)
- the address of the page you sent the form from and the page you came from (the referrer)
- your browser’s user-agent string and language setting
- how long the page had been open when you sent the message
- a hidden anti-spam field that real visitors never see or fill in
We use this to read your message, reply where a reply is needed, fix errors, keep a record of corrections and partnership conversations, and filter out automated spam. Please do not include sensitive personal details in your message; we do not need them.
When you just read the site
The web server that delivers pages may keep standard access logs (such as IP address, requested page, browser and time) for security and troubleshooting. Analytics, where it is active, is described below.
On your own device
Some calculators remember your last inputs and a short history of recent estimates in your browser’s local storage so you do not have to retype them. That data stays in your browser and is not sent to us. You can clear it in your browser settings.
Cookies and affiliate tracking
The site does not use cookies for accounts, sign-in or preferences, because it has none of those. Cookies can still be set by the services described below, mainly Google Analytics where it is active and the affiliate partners when you click through to a retailer.
HarvestSupplies.co earns commissions through affiliate links. Links to Amazon carry our Amazon Associates tracking tag. Links to eBay carry our eBay Partner Network campaign details. A small number of links go to ILGM, an online retailer, with an affiliate reference. When you click one, the destination site and its affiliate network may set their own cookies and record that the visit came from us, so they can credit a qualifying purchase. They report results to us in aggregate; we do not see your payment details or account information.
You can avoid affiliate tracking by typing a retailer’s address into your browser instead of using a link on this site, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
Analytics
Some pages on the site carry Google Analytics (GA4) tag code. Where an analytics property is active, it records page views, device and browser type, an approximate location derived from the IP address, and a few interactions we track on purpose: clicks on outbound merchant links (which merchant, which page, which button) and clicks on certain buttons.
We use that to learn which guides are useful and which links are never used. We do not use it to identify individual visitors. This page, the contact page, the terms page and the thank-you page do not load analytics scripts.
Third parties
These outside services are involved in running the site:
- Google: hosts the Google Sheet that receives contact-form messages and acts as a processor for us. Google also provides Google Analytics where it is active. The blog index page loads a typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch it; other pages use fonts already on your device.
- Amazon, eBay and ILGM: destinations of affiliate links, each with its own privacy policy. Once you leave this site, their policies apply.
- Reference sources: some articles link to government and university pages (for example the USDA, the FDA and a university extension service). These are ordinary links; we do not share anything with them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share contact-form messages with advertisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Retention and security
We keep contact-form messages for as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, and a little longer where a message leads to a correction or partnership we need to refer back to. Analytics data is kept for the period set in the analytics account. The Google Sheet that receives messages is operated by the site’s owner.
We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form with the topic “A privacy request” and tell us the email address you used so we can find the message. We will act on reasonable requests. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will respect them.
- Block or clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
- Use your browser’s privacy features or an analytics opt-out extension to stop analytics.
- Visit retailers directly rather than through affiliate links.
- Browse the site without ever using the contact form; nothing else asks for personal details.
Children
HarvestSupplies.co is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us a message, tell us through the contact form and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If the site changes in a way that affects this page, such as a new analytics tool or a new kind of form, we will update it and change the date at the top. Please check back occasionally.
Contact
